c. Postgraduate qualification in ophthalmology at University Eye Hospital Groningen.
d. Registered as ophthalmologist 7-03-1960.
e. Doctor in Ophthalmology, “cum laude” granted November 30, 1966 on his thesis: 
“Pathogenesis of Congenital Glaucoma”.
1955 - 1959 University Eye Hospital Groningen as Resident.
1959 - 1968 University Eye Hospital Groningen as “Chef de Clinique”, first ophthalmologist, assistant professor.
1968 - 2000 Ophthalmic Surgeon in Refaja Hospital Stadskanaal.
1968 - today Senior Ophthalmologist in Ophthalmological Medical Center (group of fi ve practising ophthalmologists) and Outpatient surgeon in private clinic, Groningen.
1990 - 1991 Boerhaave Professorship, University of Leiden, Ophthalmology Department
(Anatomy and Physiology of the Vitreous Body).

Inventions
Creator of a variery of intraocular lens designs and ophthalmological instruments.
