Jerome C. Ramos-Esteban, M.D. has served as Alternate Director of Highlights of Ophthalmology since 2002. He is currently completing a two-year Cornea, External Disease & Refractive Surgery fellowship at the Cole Eye Institute (Cleveland Clinic). He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Yale University School of Medicine followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital. Dr Ramos-Esteban is one of few dual fellowship trained anterior segment surgeons in the United States.

He has served on multiple panels at the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery due to his expertise and research interest in Wavefront Technology. Dr Ramos-Esteban has been the recipient of several recognitions including the Yale Alumni in Ophthalmology Resident Research Prize and an award from the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. He has published 20 scientific papers in prestigious ophthalmology journals, authored several book chapters and is currently editing an atlas on ultrasound biomicroscopy.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Pan American Association of Ophthalmology and the Keratomileusis Study Group.
